The media centre claimed government forces "continue to advance east of Hazm Al Jawf, liberate wide areas, and cut the enemy's supply lines for the third consecutive day, reaching near the Bir Al Maraziq area, and have managed to cut the supply lines of the terrorist Houthi militia on the eastern fronts of the city."

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree, however, claimed on Telegram that the group's forces had "broken" what he described as the "mobilisations التابعة للعدو السعودي" east of Al Jawf. He also claimed the Houthis had "killed and captured a number of them."

Neither side's account of the developments could be independently verified.

Fighting has intensified in Al Jawf and several other Yemeni governorates following a Houthi attack in western Taiz and south of Al Hudaydah towards Al Mokha and Bab Al Mandab. Government forces subsequently expanded operations to other fronts, including Al Jawf and Al Bayda.

Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council chairman Rashad Al Alimi on Monday praised what he described as government advances in Al Jawf, Al Bayda, Taiz and Al Hudaydah. He said operations would continue until state institutions were restored and government authority extended across Yemen.

The Houthis have controlled the capital Sanaa and large parts of northern Yemen since 2014, while the government and allied forces control areas in the south and parts of the north. The conflict has killed thousands of people and caused a widespread humanitarian crisis.
