Visitors in Bangladesh’s Narayanganj have been gathering at an agro farm ahead of Eid al-Adha to see a rare pink albino buffalo nicknamed ‘ Donald Trump ’ because of its yellow hair and appearance.

The buffalo, housed at Rabeya Agro Farm in the Paikpara area, has become a popular attraction after videos and photos of the animal circulated online. The three-and-a-half-year-old buffalo weighs around 700 kilograms and is displayed alongside cows, goats and sheep at the farm.

Many visitors said curiosity and social media attention encouraged them to travel to the farm to see the animal in person.

“We came here out of excitement. Earlier, I used to see on my phone when 'Donald Trump' was in Rajshahi, and now it has been purchased. It has been brought here to an agro farm in Narayanganj. We came here out of pure excitement. Upon seeing it, I noticed that its hair and eyes are just like his. But behaviorally, animals and humans obviously have no similarities whatsoever. Since it was named in jest, it has created quite a buzz out of that excitement across all of Bangladesh,” said visitor Sahawat Siraj.

The buffalo’s pale pink skin and long yellow forelock have drawn comparisons with the hairstyle of the US president , leading to the nickname that has spread widely among visitors and online audiences.

Farm owner Zia Uddin said the buffalo was brought from Rajshahi City Hat around 10 months ago and was named by his younger brother.

“I bought this buffalo from Rajshahi City Hat 10 months ago. Since then, this buffalo (Donald Trump) has been on my farm till today. My younger brother has named this buffalo Donald Trump out of love and passion. The main reason behind naming it Donald Trump is the hair of this buffalo. This is a rare albino species of buffalo; they are mainly pink in colour. And the hair is yellow in colour, and because of the hair it has been given this name,” he said.

The growing attention around the buffalo has turned the farm into a busy destination ahead of Eid al-Adha, with families continuing to arrive to photograph the animal.
