Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree has warned that the group will continue launching attacks deep inside Saudi Arabia in the coming days, following missile and drone strikes targeting major oil facilities and an international airport.

Speaking on Wednesday, Saree confirmed that the Houthis had launched ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones at Saudi Aramco facilities in Dhahran and Riyadh, as well as King Khalid International Airport.

"The strikes were accurate, thanks to God, and caused destruction and fires at the targeted sites," Saree said.

He warned that the group would continue targeting Saudi infrastructure and urged people working at the affected facilities to evacuate.

"The Yemeni Armed Forces affirm that their operations deep inside Saudi Arabia will continue over the coming days, targeting airports and oil facilities belonging to the Saudi enemy. The consequences will be severe for it, by the will and power of God. Accordingly, the Yemeni Armed Forces warn international shipping companies, citizens, and workers at those airports and companies to stay away from them, and call for their immediate evacuation, as they have become legitimate targets for our armed forces," he added.

Saudi authorities confirmed damage and injuries following the attacks but reported intercepting some of the incoming missiles.

According to Saudi Arabia's Civil Defence, debris from two intercepted cruise missiles fell in Riyadh, injuring four people and causing limited damage to 15 residential homes.

Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen, also confirmed that a Houthi ballistic missile launched towards Riyadh had been 'intercepted and destroyed'.

In Dhahran, Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Energy reported that an Aramco administrative building had been targeted, causing a limited fire.

The ministry said the incident resulted in no injuries or fatalities.

The latest attacks come amid renewed hostilities between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia, which supports Yemen's internationally recognised government.

The current escalation began on July 13 following an attack on Sana'a International Airport.

The Houthis accused Saudi Arabia of carrying out that strike, although Yemen's internationally recognised government claimed responsibility.

Addressing the UN General Assembly in New York on Friday, Sharif described the two waterways as “arteries of the global economy” and said they should connect nations rather than become points of conflict. He also condemned recent Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia and expressed solidarity with the Saudi people, including after an attempted drone attack near the holy city of Makkah.

Sharif also defended the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement between Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan, saying it was intended to promote defence, stability and peace rather than target another country. On the war in the region, he renewed Pakistan’s support for an independent Palestinian state based on the pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, and called for an end to Israeli military action in Lebanon and Syria.

The group said on Saturday that it launched "a large number of ballistic and cruise missiles and drones " in what it described as "two military operations."

In a recorded message, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed that "the first operation struck sensitive targets in Riyadh” while the second “struck the Aramco company in Yanbu.”

“Both operations, with the help of God Almighty, achieved success, resulting in massive fires breaking out at the targeted sites," he alleged.

Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Defence described the attack as a failure. Spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki said a ballistic missile targeted Riyadh in a dawn strike but was "successfully intercepted and destroyed" by Saudi air defences.

Oil company Aramco had not commented on reports of an explosion at its fuel depot near Riyadh’s international airport. The Saudi Ministry of Defence said there were "no reported casualties or damage to personnel or critical infrastructure."

The Saudi Civil Defence had earlier announced on Saturday "the activation of early warning in Riyadh and Al-Kharj" before later declaring that the threat had ended.

The attacks come amid fighting across several Yemeni governorates between government and Houthi forces.

The conflict widened in recent days following a Houthi assault in western Taiz and southern Hodeidah towards Mokha and Bab al-Mandab in the country's southwest. Government forces later expanded their operations to other fronts, including Al-Jawf and Al-Bayda.

Tensions intensified on July 13 after the Houthis blamed Saudi Arabia for a strike on the runway at Sanaa International Airport.

However, the Ministry of Defence of Yemen's internationally recognised government claimed its forces had struck the airport runway to prevent an Iranian aircraft from landing.

The strike caused a flight carrying a Houthi delegation returning from the funeral ceremony for former Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to divert to Hodeidah.

The Houthis have controlled the capital, Sanaa, and large parts of northern Yemen since 2014, while the Yemeni government and allied forces control areas in the south and parts of the north. The conflict has killed thousands of people and caused a major humanitarian crisis.

Footage released by the government forces' media centre shows soldiers firing weapons and advancing uphill. A tank is also seen firing a shell as military vehicles move through the area.

The location of the footage and the date it was filmed could not be independently verified.

The media centre claimed government forces "continue to advance east of Hazm Al Jawf, liberate wide areas, and cut the enemy's supply lines for the third consecutive day, reaching near the Bir Al Maraziq area, and have managed to cut the supply lines of the terrorist Houthi militia on the eastern fronts of the city."

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree, however, claimed on Telegram that the group's forces had "broken" what he described as the "mobilisations التابعة للعدو السعودي" east of Al Jawf. He also claimed the Houthis had "killed and captured a number of them."

Neither side's account of the developments could be independently verified.

Fighting has intensified in Al Jawf and several other Yemeni governorates following a Houthi attack in western Taiz and south of Al Hudaydah towards Al Mokha and Bab Al Mandab. Government forces subsequently expanded operations to other fronts, including Al Jawf and Al Bayda.

Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council chairman Rashad Al Alimi on Monday praised what he described as government advances in Al Jawf, Al Bayda, Taiz and Al Hudaydah. He said operations would continue until state institutions were restored and government authority extended across Yemen.

The Houthis have controlled the capital Sanaa and large parts of northern Yemen since 2014, while the government and allied forces control areas in the south and parts of the north. The conflict has killed thousands of people and caused a widespread humanitarian crisis.
