China's AGIBOT hosts Lunar New Year gala featuring 200 humanoid robots in Shanghai: Video
A Chinese robotics firm, AGIBOT, has staged what it describes as the world’s first large-scale humanoid-robot gala, hosting a 60-minute performance in Shanghai ahead of the Lunar New Year celebrations.
On Sunday, February 8, more than 200 humanoid robots took part in tightly choreographed routines that blended technology with traditional Chinese culture. The machines performed synchronised dances, executed martial-arts sequences inspired by Shaolin forms, and carried out acrobatic movements using props such as flaming torches.
AGIBOT said the event was designed to demonstrate major progress in “embodied intelligence” — a field focused on giving robots physical abilities combined with perception, decision-making and social interaction.
According to the company, the performance highlighted the reliability of its full product ecosystem. It signalled a shift from experimental laboratory models to systems capable of operating at an industrial scale in real-world environments.
