Artist Beeple unveils AI robot dogs with celebrity faces in new Germany exhibition
US artist Mike Winkelmann, also known as Beeple, has presented his “Regular Animals” installation in Germany, featuring robotic dogs designed with faces of prominent public figures.
The installation includes robot dogs with the likeness of billionaires Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg. Footage from Thursday also shows robots with hyper-realistic silicone heads of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) leader Kim Jong Un, late artists Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol, as well as Winkelmann himself.
According to the artist, the robot dogs are programmed to occasionally “poop out” printed images of their surroundings, captured through built-in cameras. These images are processed by artificial intelligence systems, which reinterpret the visuals based on the cultural, artistic, or ideological “style” linked to each figure.
