China has the world’s largest agricultural production value, with India and the United States ranking second and third, according to the infographic based on 2024 data.

The UN Food and Agriculture Organization’s FAOSTAT database measures agricultural production value at the farm gate, combining the amount produced with the prices farmers receive. It is different from agricultural GDP, exports or farmers’ profits.
According to the graphic, China accounts for 35.6% of the $5.2 trillion global total, compared with 10.9% for India and 8.6% for the United States. Together, the three countries represent about 55% of the total shown.

FAO figures show that global agricultural output remained enormous in 2024, including 3.1 billion tonnes of cereals, 374 million tonnes of meat and 985 million tonnes of milk.
The ranking does not show which countries export the most food or make the most profit from agriculture. It measures the gross value of agricultural goods produced at farm-gate prices.
