'I Blocked Him', Ghanian spiritualist claims role in Kane’s miss
A Ghanaian spiritualist has claimed he foresaw, and even influenced, Harry Kane’s missed chances during England’s draw with Ghana.
A well-known Ghanaian spiritualist, Nana Kwaku Bonsam, says he predicted Harry Kane’s difficult night in front of goal during England’s goalless draw with Ghana and claims he played a role in it. Speaking from his shrine in Accra, Bonsam described himself as an admirer of the England captain but said spiritual guidance led him to intervene after foreseeing Kane scoring twice. According to him, he used traditional rituals to prevent that outcome, insisting his actions were motivated by loyalty to his country.
Kane went on to miss key chances during the match, including a close-range opportunity, though there is no evidence to support Bonsam’s claims. The spiritualist later said the ‘block’ had been lifted and expressed confidence that Kane would return to form. Known for similar statements in the past, including a claim involving Cristiano Ronaldo in 2014, Bonsam remains a prominent figure in Ghana, where he promotes traditional spirituality and its role in modern society, despite scepticism from many observers.
