Iran accuses US of lies, Israel of funding ISIS at UN: Video

Iran’s representative to the United Nations has accused the United States of spreading “lies, distortion of facts and deliberate misinformation” during a heated UN Security Council session on Thursday, amid escalating tensions between the two countries.

“US fabrications of the senseless killing of protesters neither reflect reality on the ground nor would it whitewash Americans’ crimes against the great people of Iran,” Darzi told the council. He said Iranian security forces had acted against what he described as “armed ISIS-style terrorist cells and violent separatist groups,” which he alleged were funded and armed by foreign actors, including Israel.
