Rodríguez condemns Machado during visit to US-hit communities in Venezuela: Video

Venezuela’s acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, criticised opposition leader María Corina Machado as “shameful” on Saturday, January 24, while visiting communities affected by the January 3 US strikes in Catia La Mar.

Her remarks were made during a tour of areas that sustained damage during the operation.

Rodríguez accused Machado of supporting foreign military action against Venezuela, saying it was unacceptable for a Venezuelan to express gratitude for the bombing that caused suffering to the population. She said the Venezuelan people reject any form of aggression that brings anguish to families, particularly to children and young people.

During her visit to the La Soublette sector, one of the areas impacted by the operation aimed at capturing President Nicolás Maduro, Rodríguez led an aid initiative to support around 5,500 families. The assistance included medical care, infrastructure repairs and veterinary services.
