S.Korea, Netherlands to establish 'chip alliance' on state visit -Yonhap
South Korea and the Netherlands, two of the leading players in the global semiconductor market, will establish a "chip alliance" during President Yoon Suk Yeol's state visit next week, Yonhap news agency said on Thursday, citing Yoon's office.
During his trip, Yoon plans to visit ASML, the world's leading maker of lithography equipment which is critical in making semiconductors, and discuss stronger partnerships on chip supply chains, his office said earlier.
ASML, a supplier to South Korean chip giants Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, is building a new assembly facility in South Korea with an investment of 240 billion won ($180.86 million), according to Yoon's office.
