The coffin of Pope Francis arrived at the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, where he was laid to rest earlier today.
His burial followed a large funeral service at the Vatican, attended by world leaders and thousands of mourners.
Tens of thousands of people lined the streets as the popemobile carried the late pope’s coffin through Rome. Many clapped, prayed, and waved flags to say goodbye to the Argentine pope, who died at the age of 88.
