US puts visa restrictions on Haitian official, alleging support for gangs

The U.S. State Department said on Monday it imposed visa restrictions on a Haitian government official for allegedly supporting gangs and other criminal organizations and for what Washington called an obstruction to the Haitian government's fight against "terrorist gangs."

The State Department did not identify the individual in its statement and said any visas held by the person will be revoked.
