Bolivian mothers jon anti-government protests as crisis deepens

Hundreds of women marched through downtown La Paz on Mother's Day as Bolivia entered its fourth consecutive week of protests and roadblocks.

The demonstrations come amid severe fuel shortages, rising inflation, and mounting political tensions that have fueled nationwide unrest and disrupted daily life across the country.

Many protesters are demanding the resignation of President Rodrigo Paz, accusing his administration of failing to address the country's economic challenges. Demonstrators carrying banners and chanting anti-government slogans said they would continue their campaign despite the possibility of tougher government action.

The protests intensified after the government secured legal authority to declare a state of emergency and deploy the military to restore public order if necessary.
