An explosion was heard and plumes of smoke were seen rising on Friday from eastern neighborhoods of Syria's central province of Homs, state media reported.
The explosion was caused by an old missile in an abandoned military barracks that was mishandled, a security source and a witness in the area told Reuters. No casualties were reported.
