Labubu craze hits Berlin as fans queue overnight for first store opening
Hundreds of Labubu enthusiasts lined the streets of central Berlin on Friday morning as Germany’s first official store for the beloved grinning plush monster toys opened its doors.
“I’ve been waiting out there since last night, around 11 or 12,” a customer told Viory. “I’m really happy. I didn’t sleep at all, just because of Labubu,” she added.
Footage from inside the store shows ecstatic customers clutching the toothy creations from Chinese toymaker Pop Mart, some smiling as they explore the shelves filled with the sought-after collectables.
Labubu is a series of collectable designer plush toys created by artist Kasing Lung, known for its quirky monster elf characters featuring playful designs, exaggerated expressions, and animal-like traits.
