Egypt backs next phase of Gaza ceasefire plan at World Economic Forum in Davos: Video

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has expressed support for the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement. He called it a “pivotal step” while speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday, January 21.

The comments came after US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff announced the start of the second phase of President Donald Trump’s “20-point plan” aimed at ending the conflict in Gaza. This phase includes moving from a ceasefire to disarmament, setting up a technocratic administration, and beginning reconstruction work.
