Iran accuses US of ‘not serious’ approach to talks as tensions persist over sanctions and Strait of Hormuz: Video
Iran has cast doubt on the viability of ongoing negotiations with the United States, with Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baqaei saying Washington is “not serious” about reaching an agreement.
Speaking on Iranian state television on Friday, May 1, Baqaei criticised what he described as contradictory US actions, pointing to continued sanctions despite stated willingness to ease them.
“You cannot claim you will lift all sanctions while you are actually intensifying them,” he said, accusing the US of further escalating tensions through what he called “acts of maritime piracy.”
