Israel's Ben-Gvir calls for dismantling Palestinian Authority and Hamas

Speaking at a cultural event in Rishon LeZion on Friday, Ben-Gvir outlined his position on the two Palestinian organisations.

"We need to wipe them out. I want to dismantle the Palestinian Authority, to dismantle Hamas. To stop the aid trucks. That is the approach," Ben-Gvir said.

Asked about security coordination between the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli military, Ben-Gvir said the authority was "not legitimate" and accused it of supporting the October 7 attacks by Hamas.

"They are very weak. We are going to take their people and throw them back to where they came from," he maintained.

Ben-Gvir also defended his policies towards Palestinian prisoners.

“In the past four years, I have turned Israeli prisons into hell for terrorists. That's the truth, that's what I did,” he said.

“I took away their ping-pong, soccer, aesthetic surgeries in Israel. They have nothing. You should see them," he added.

Asked separately about those linked to the release of surveillance footage from the Sde Teiman detention facility, Ben-Gvir said those responsible should be barred from military and civilian service.

The remarks come ahead of Israel's October 27 election for the 26th Knesset, the country's first parliamentary vote since the Hamas-led October 7 attack.

Earlier this month, Ben-Gvir proposed a plan to relocate around 1.9 million Palestinians from Gaza to other countries over seven years.

He has also called for the killing of "30 or 40" people in Gaza every night.
