Poland will not send troops to Gaza, PM Tusk says: Video

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has ruled out sending Polish soldiers to the Gaza Strip, distancing Warsaw from any potential military role in a Peace Council initiative convened by US President Donald Trump.

Speaking on Monday, February 16, Tusk made clear that Poland would not deploy troops to Gaza under any circumstances.

“Poland certainly does not intend to send Polish soldiers to the Gaza Strip. We have our own security challenges,” he said.

The prime minister added that the government does not foresee formal participation in the Peace Council initiative. Any Polish presence, he said, would be strictly observational.

Tusk also dismissed the idea of financing reconstruction or development projects in Gaza, saying Poland must prioritise investment in its own cities and domestic needs.
