Supporters rally in Seoul as court sentences Yoon Suk-Yeol to life in prison: Video
Hundreds of supporters of former South Korean president Yoon Suk-Yeol gathered outside a Seoul court on Thursday, February 19, after he was sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of insurrection. Prosecutors had sought the death penalty.
Video from the scene showed a bus carrying Yoon leaving the court complex as crowds waved U.S. and South Korean flags, chanting and beating drums. Some demonstrators held placards reading “Yoon is not guilty,” “There was no insurrection,” and “Martial law was justifiable.”
