US–Philippine live-fire drill held in Ilocos Norte: Video
Philippine and United States forces staged a high-intensity live-fire coastal defence drill in Ilocos Norte on Monday, April 4.
The exercise featured advanced military assets, including the M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), manoeuvring across coastal terrain.
Footage from the drills showed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) being intercepted by surface-to-air missiles, targets struck at sea, and infantry units executing beach defence operations.
The drills are part of the 41st annual Balikatan exercises, a long-standing military partnership between Philippines and the United States aimed at strengthening regional defence preparedness. This year’s exercises placed particular focus on counter-landing operations.
