Venezuela’s acting president urges US to end economic blockade: Video

Venezuelan acting president Delcy Rodríguez on Friday, February 27, called on the United States to end the economic blockade and sanctions against her country during a meeting with leading figures from Venezuela’s oil sector in Caracas.

Rodríguez thanked US President Donald Trump for what she described as “expressions of respect” but reiterated her demand that Washington lift the measures, saying the business sector has also been harmed by the restrictions. She said the investment made in Venezuela’s hydrocarbons industry in 2025 must be respected and called for a respectful and cooperative bilateral energy agenda with the United States. Rodríguez also stressed that the blockade hurts Venezuelans and affects efforts to develop the country’s economy.
