Yemen warns of response to alleged airspace violations

Yemen’s defence minister has warned of a response to alleged airspace violations, signalling rising tensions in the region.

Yemen’s Defence Minister, Major General Taher Al-Aqili, has warned that the country will respond to what he described as repeated violations of its airspace. In a statement addressed to both military personnel and the public, he said diplomatic efforts had failed to resolve the issue, accusing Iran and Houthi forces of escalating actions that challenge international norms.

Al-Aqili said Yemen would take action using all available means to defend its sovereignty, stressing that patience had been exhausted. He added that the response would aim to deter further incidents and reaffirm the country’s ability to protect its territory across land, sea and air.
