Flood relief
Three camps are currently under development for displaced flood victims in Battor and Mepe in the North Tongu District in the Volta Region of Ghana, according to the Daily Graphic. District Chief Executive of the area, Divine Osborne Fenu told the media the intervention will provide decent places for persons affected by the Akosombo and Kpong Dam overflow to live in temporarily and ease pressure on school structures being used as safe haven.
Power cuts
Parts of Ghana have experienced power cuts in recent times over limited gas supply to one of its power stations in Tema, Accra, Citinewsroom reports. The Ghana Grid Company Ltd (GRIDCo) the operator of the National Interconnected Transmission System (NITS) has announced that the country should expect more of such power outages at peak times until further notice.

Protest
Hundreds of residents in Sekondi-Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana took to the streets on Friday, September 28, 2023, to protest what they say is the lack of development and neglect of the area by various governments. Poor road infrastructure, the dilapidated Essipon Sports stadium, and the absence of traffic lights are among the issues protestors want to be tackled by the government, according to 3news.
